The Sashabaw Road Corridor Improvement Authority (the "CIA") was created to enhance existing business districts and promote economic development efforts within these districts. One of the features of a CIA is the ability to fund improvements through tax increment financing. The CIA has focused its attention on identifying those public improvements that are needed in the development area and that, if provided, will result in the enhancement of existing business activity and stimulation of new private investment that is in keeping with the policies of the Township. The Township includes this in its financial reporting entity because it appoints a voting majority of the CIA board and approves the annual budget. There is no separately issued report for this component unit.
